Kirsty Fromholtz - Director, therapist and tutor
B Sc (Psych) Cert. DMT
Having danced from a young age, I was always drawn to movement and dance as an outlet for creativity and
expression. Whilst
completing a psychology degree, I began moving away from stricter dance
disciplines into improvisation and creative dance forms. These elements
combined led me to pursue a career in dance movement therapy, completing a
certificate course through the International Dance Therapy Institute of Australia.
I have been a practicing dance therapist in Sydney for the past four years working with clients with intellectual and physical disabilities, adolescence with eating disorders and young people with behavioural difficulties.
I am a member of the Dance Therapy Association of Australia (DTAA) and I am currently working towards obtaining the highest level of membership and becoming a registered member of PACFA (Psychotherapy and Counselling federation of Australia)
I am a qualified CHAKRADANCE teacher after completing intensive training and i bring my dance therapy skills to provide sessions for individuals and groups from a range of backgrounds.
I have trained in a number of dance styles including ballet, contemporary, jazz and hip hop, which has led me to my involvement in projects that aim to use these styles of dance in a therapeutic way, including my involvement in projects running hip hop workshops for indigenous and refugee young people.
